I participated in the Second General EU - Cost Action 22155 Potarch Meeting in Poznan, Poland 19-21 March, a network for the past, present and future of major non-timber forest raw materials and products in Europe and beyond. I presented the poster Charcoal: a long-run economic, social and environmental history", joint work with Koldo Trapaga-Monchet, Renata Costa and Ana Brandão. This poster was second in the poster competition and was awarded a Honor Mention Prize. My co-author Renata Costa presented " The interwoven Historical, Technological and Economic Perspectives on Tar and Resin Derivates in Portugal" a paper where Koldo , Ana and myself are also contributors.
I will participate in the Exergy Economics workshop in Leeds 11-13 June and at the Sustainable Transitions Research Network Conference in Lisbon, June 23 to 27. In July I will be present at the workshop Forest of Numbers organized by Giacomo Bonan and his ERC Project Inwood . Then , I will be in the south of Sweden participating at the World Economic History Congress 2025 in Lund 28th July-1 of August and then I will travel north to the ESEH Conference 2025 – Climate Histories – European Society for Environmental History in Uppsala 18th -22th August. I will finish my conference season in September with a paper at the 7th biennial conference of the European Rural History Organisation (EURHO) which will be held in Coimbra, Portugal 9-12 of September.
